African Sun by FantasticFennec African Sun by FantasticFennec
This is a photo of a Cheetah that I took at The Wildlife Heritage Foundation Big Cat Sanctuary.

Seriously lacking title enthusiasm lately. Gotta say cheetahs are one of my favourite cats to photograph, such beauties.

Comments are always appreciated.

what beautiful eyes! a great shot of his expression
i can understand how you like to photograph them. they're very captivating. though i have only seen one once, i have loved them before i had even seen one. you take great shots of cheetahs! have you ever done any articles like in national geographic magazines or anything?

:) Thank you very much.
National geographic? Haha, no. Gosh, couldn't believe being good enough to end up in there. The only time I've been featured in a magazine was when I won a photo competition. :D

your photos are good enough! i have a nat geo photography book right here and some animals are not hardly as good as yours! if you photographed some truly wild animals close up, i guarantee that would earn you a spot in an article! do you take pictures of zoo animals or wild?

Thanks so much. ^.^ And I only really take zoo shots, Africa's a bit too far away for me to travel to get shots like this. :D

Our cheetah exhibit just opened at the Indianapolis Zoo. So I've been photographing cheetahs myself. This is excellent! Love their expressions, don't you? At our Zoo, these cats really engage in eye contact too. Way cool!

This is such a gorgeous shot of this cheetah. Nice shot, Jo. As a matter of fact, this is one of the best poses I've seen of a cheetah because of the facial expression and also the detail and shine of the eyes. Cheetahs eyes are sometimes difficult to get right unless the lighting conditions are just right. Awesome work! =)

Now I have a little bit of constructive criticism, I hope you're cool with that. I think that this photo has a huge amount of potential, I really do. As I said, the pose and all is incredible. But the one thing that I find that could improve this greatly is the colour. I think that the colour is slightly off and could possibly be improved by adjusting the colour warmth, curves and the contrast as well but slightly. :D

:) Thanks Dave.

Yeah sure thing, I'm also happy to hear constructive crit, although I might not always act on it. :D I'll have to have a fiddle around with the curves and contrast and all that then, I'm still getting into editing my photos so it'll be fun to have a play around with it and see what I can do with it. :)

You're welcome Jo. :D

I am very similar, always happy to hear constructive criticism but don't always act on it either because I don't have much time or sometimes I just don't always know how to do the edits that people suggest. Either way, it's a great photo. =)

Haha, that little fennec's been there for ages, used to be my old icon until I decided to use it for the watermark. :D
