Sand Attack

This is a photo of an Arabian Sand Cat that I took at Marwell Zoo.

I think this one is a male, although I'm not 100% sure. He was on his own in an enclosure next to one with three other sand cats in it (I'm guessing it was one male and two females). This little guy was pretty territorial towards the other male and looked like he was about to spring at the other male (and if the glass hadn't been in the way I bet he would have). These guys are really well camouflaged, it took me a while to work out where they were, even though I was staring them right in the face!

I love how the cat, rocks and twigs stand out against the shadow of the enclosure.
